From Christmas to New Years fun.

When I upload pictures lately it just brings up words on my draft, not sure what I did, but now I don't know where the pictures are to write the captions, so I'll just tell about the pictures and then you can look below.
*I have a few updated pictures of Hunter.
*We discovered that our culvert is actually a decent little sledding hill for the girls.
*January first the Holmes family always gets together to shoot clay pigeons and sled and stuff, and we left Hunter in the trailer with Grandpa and they were both asleep. SO CUTE! Ron spilled his Diet Coke and blamed Hunter. haha. Colby and Zach are having a snowball fight with Jamie, and Camrie likes to hang out in the warmth of the trailer.
*Christmas was good. Santa came this year. lol. Hunter is lying on the ground because neither of the girls would hold him. Lovely.
*When I get dressed to workout the girls run to their room and get in their own "workout clothes". They crack me up. I love turbo Jam, "pa pa pa party", and the girls like to attempt to do it. It's hilarious, but they love it.

Hunters blessing

Hunter was blessed this Sunday, December 6th. He's two months old. Colby blessed him and did a wonderful job.
While I had my sisters at my house and all dressed up we decided to get a few pictures together. I don't think we've had a family picture with my mom and dad since my sister passed away 19 years ago, so I wanted to post that picture too. I wish we could have had all of the son in laws there so that we could get the whole family together. Maybe another day. As much as everyone hates getting their pictures taken I'm glad we took them.

Hunter is here!

Yay! Colby Hunter Holmes is finally here. He was born on October 9th, 2009. He weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and he's 19 1/2 inches long, and a very handsome little boy.
Shortly after he was born after they did some tests on him he was having a hard time breathing. It wasn't too bad, just had some shy breathing when he'd go to sleep, so they x-rayed his chest and nothing, did blood work and nothing, so he was on oxygen for about two and a half days. They had a clear bucket thing over his head while he was in the incubator, and Saturday night he got a tube taped to his face in front of his nostrils to make it easier for us to feed him. On Sunday morning about 10:30 am they turned off the oxygen and from there he didn't need it anymore. So from Friday to Sunday he was stuck in the nursery. We had to go in there to feed him or if we wanted to hold him. Sunday they discharged me, but were nice enough to let Colby and I stay in the same room for free until Monday when they discharged him. He's home now and he's healthy, and I'm learning what everyone means by wear a rain jacket when you change him. lol.
The girls just love him. Jamie is asking every half hour if she can hold him, and her and Camrie just sit and stare at him sometimes, it's so sweet.

Happy Birthday Camrie

Camrie turned the big number 3 on Sunday the 20th. She's getting so big. I can't believe how fast time flies. Seems like yesterday she was my little baby. When Aunt Deanna got to the birthday party Camrie went up to her and said, "I'm not a baby anymore". It was cute how she said it, but it's sad to think she's such a big girl now.

First day of Kindergarten

Today is Jamie's first day of Kindergarten. I had to go in and wake her up at 7:00 this morning. She said she was still tired and I told her she needed to get up and get ready for school, she just smiled and then pulled the cover over her head. I didn't feel to bad about waking her up since she's usually the one waking me up at 7:00 in the morning. She got up ate her breakfast burrito, changed her clothes, got her hair done, brushed her teeth, took a few pictures, then at 7:50 we went in and got Camrie out of bed, had her go potty and put them in the jogging stroller with a nice warm blanket. The bus showed up about 10 after 8:00. It's a good thing we left at 8:00 because it took me five minutes to walk to the bus stop. There were a lot of kids waiting, but looks like Jamie is probably the only Kindergartner taking the bus in our neighborhood. I was glad to see Jolene and KennaRae, a couple of my ward friends waiting with their kids too. I hope Jamie has a super fun day today.

Colby's half marathon

I just want to say how proud I am of Colby. He ran his first half marathon on Saturday the 8th of August. He had to wake up around 3:00am in the morning so that he could make it to Provo and on the bus that takes you to the top of the canyon for the race. The race started about 7:00am. Thanks to Ron and Nancy I was able to see him at the end. Ron and Nancy picked the girls and me up at 7:00am, just in time to see Colby running to the finish. He ran 13 miles in 1:59:36. Just under two hours. Great job Honey, you did awesome. Hopefully next time I can say that I got to run too.

Yay Daddy!! We were SO surprised to see him looking so good. I thought he'd have to drag himself across the finish. Nope, he proved me wrong. He said the only bad part is that he was keeping pace with a bunch of girls. I'm sure he liked that more then he was putting on though. lol. He only walked once and that was to grab a drink of water at one of the watering stations.

His brother Zach instigated the whole thing. He talked Colby and their friend Jess into running with them. Poor Jess wore his soccer shoes with no padding and felt like his feet were broken. Zach and Colby went back to find him and jogged with him to the finish line. Good job boys!

Camrie showing how fast she can run.

Jamie showing how fast she can run. The girls both had a good time, and were able to just run around and play on the grass while we waited. They were so excited and cheered for Colby when he passed by.

Going to the beach

I took the girls to one of the beaches that are in Daybreak, thanks to Aunt Kristie who told us all about it and went with us with her kids. Jamie has been asking to go to the beach for um lets see probably about three years now. Whenever she'd say she wanted to go to the beach I always thought it would be forever before we could go to California or something like that, but this little beach was perfect. There was a lot of people at first, but I still didn't think it was too crowded, but the longer we stayed the emptier it got. We almost had the beach to ourselves for about an hour. It was so fun and the girls just loved it.
